The Call for Abstracts for the 8th annual SWHPN General Assembly is now open! The theme for this year is New Horizons: Navigating the Future of Hospice & Palliative Social Work.

Please download the 2020 Abstract Submission Guide for presentation format descriptions. Abstract proposals will be accepted for the following presentation formats:

  • 50-minute oral presentations, with time after for Q&A (for case studies, and subjects that are limited in scope)
  • 50-minute symposia presentations, with time after for Q&A
  • Poster presentations for Poster Walks
    • Again this year, SWHPN will host guided poster walks in the main conference area so presenters can showcase their work. Conference chairs will lead small groups around pre-selected posters, giving the authors ten minutes to present and answer questions. Awards will be given for the best posters in Research and Clinical Practice.
  • Pre-conference workshops (3 hours, to be held on Sunday, March 15th)
  • New this year! Lightning Talks (a great opportunity for newer practitioners and social workers!): short, fun, fast-paced talks that are less than 8 minutes in length, presented back to back with other presenters in a one-hour or 90-minute general session, on a very specific topic
