The Social Work Hospice and Palliative Care Network is pleased to announce that its 2023 General Assembly will be held in-person Sunday, April 23 through Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Westin Westminster in Denver, CO.

Each year, our signature event brings together hundreds of palliative and hospice professionals from across the country to present and share in oral, poster, and symposia presentations, as well as interactive workshops. The only national conference for hospice and palliative care social workers, our 2023 event will once again feature leading research, innovative clinical practices, educational strategies, advocacy initiatives, and case narratives from clinicians, researchers, and leaders in the field of hospice and palliative care.
Our conference tracks include discussions on caregiving, clinical interventions, COVID-related clinical practice, pediatrics, equity, racism, accessibility, policy, ethics, grief, bereavement, and more.
Important Dates:
  • November 15, 2022 - March 31, 2023: Early bird registration extended for Social Work Month!
  • Mid December, 2022: Full Conference Schedule Announced
  • January 3 - March 3, 2023: Call for Nominations 2023 SWHPN Awards
  • April 1 - April 23: Regular rates for registration

 Cancellation Policy:

  • SWHPN will honor cancellations up until 4/23/23, minus a $35 processing fee.
  • If a COVID surge requires us to cancel/postpone the in-person event in April 2023, we will evaluate ways to hold the event completely virtually. We are also working on procedures to determine how to continue the breakout sessions if, for example, one presenter/panelist cannot attend due to illness or exposure. We guarantee that we will communicate with you clearly and frequently, especially as we get closer to the event date.
  • We are optimistic that, similar to what we’ve seen in past years, there is a fall COVID surge and then a period of relative lower community spread in the spring. We understand that many places no longer require masks even in healthcare settings. As a healthcare-related organization committed to promoting accessibility, we hope that having some protective measures in place will allow for a successful and enjoyable experience for everyone.
